Scientists made a bizarre discovery when they took a CT scan of an ancient Buddha statue from China. Inside was a mummy sitting in the same lotus position. Further investigation revealed that the organs had been removed and replaced by scraps of paper with Chinese writing on them.
The forests around the Bhola Giri mountain range in Orissa have been sacred for thousands of years due to having been visited by Lord Ramachandra and the Pandavas, and as such sadhus have been residing throughout this area from ancient times. 
Over the last 10 years, devotees from the Bhaktivedanta Ashram have been meeting with and trying to help some of the present sadhus. In the past we have provided solar lighting to some ashrams, running water (through water tanks fed by gravity from a nearby waterfall), and constructed rooms for sadhus to stay as well as bathrooms and toilets for elderly sadhus.
