PNB ratings under watch, says Crisil
​​A notice to the stock exchanges by PNB detailed that it had outstanding debt papers aggregating a little over Rs 22,200 crore. All these papers have been put under ratings watch and hence could be affected by a downgrade.

CVC summons top officials of finance ministry, PNB for explanation
A top CVC official confirmed that senior officials of PNB, including its chief vigilance officer, and the finance ministry would be asked explain why such irregularities went undetected for so long. Asenior PNB executive said: "The CVC meeting is routine; the issue of fraud may be discussed."

Time to study PSU bank privatisation: Chief economic advisor
"We need to recognise how much stress there is in the banking system. Bank of Baroda closed down its South Africa operations and now PNB is facing problems," CEA Arvind Subramanian , addressing the Madras Management Association.
