The Sharad Yadav-led Janata Dal (United) and Ajit Singh's Rashtriya Lok Dal will merge to form a new political entity - with a different name and symbol - to contest next year's Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, RLD national general secretary Jayant Chaudhary said on Sunday.
