OPS: Sentinel who guarded Fort St George
O Panneerselvam, one of J Jayalalithaa's most trusted lieutenants, has proved his loyalty to his leader several times over. Panneerselvam earlier served as proxy chief minister in 2001-02, when a court order in the Tansi land case unseated Jayalalithaa. After the Supreme Court acquitted the AIADMK chief, he promptly vacated the seat.
