A Journey to the Hidden Ashram of Vishwanatha Baba in 2012

Vishwanatha Baba lived in the most remote area along the Salandi river. No vehicles could reach his small mud hut, and you had to walk for many hours through the forest to reach his ashram.

A Journey to the Hidden Ashram of Vishwanatha Baba in 2012

In 2012 we made a long journey through the forests along the Salandi River to visit the hidden ashram of the revered sadhu Vishwanatha Baba. Living deep in the wilderness with no electricity, no nearby villages, and reachable only after many hours of walking, Baba maintained a life of simplicity, daily goseva, and evening harinama kirtan under the quiet darkness of the forest. This article shares rare memories and photographs from those visits, offering a glimpse into the life of an authentic forest sadhu whose devotion, humility, and spiritual strength left a lasting impression on all who met him.
