Lockdown, Day 64: Hopes high, spirits down

As of today, India has breached 1.5 lakh confirmed coronavirus cases with 170 deaths and 6000 plus cases registered in last 24 hours. In an effort to keep the economy up and running, Tamil Nadu govt scored an investment deal of Rs 15,100 crore which in turn would generate over 47,000 jobs in the state alone.

In other news, Sensex jumped 996 points led by massive gains in banking and IT stocks with Axis Bank leading the pack. This, when India awaits its Q4 growth numbers coming Friday.

Sixty days have made one thing clear, India is not under lockdown. Over the last two months, India's seen only patchwork closure and a crippled economy. Whatever time India bought from the lockdown - crucial time it could've used to improve infrastructure - seems to have gone to waste. Do you agree?
