Lockdown, Day 22: India's new rulebook is out

Government today released the new lockdown rulebook — stipulating who all will or will not be allowed to resume work during the extended phase. Meanwhile, the spectre of a mass exodus of migrant labourers looms large over the economy.

As of now, India's infection curve has shown no signs of flattening out. 1,076 fresh cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the number of confirmed cases to 11,933, with 392 dead.

Lord Narasimha as Gandabherunda and Lord Shiva as Sharabha

As with Shiva Sarabha, Gandabherunda is not mentioned in the Bhagavata Purana, although it is mentioned in some Puranas and in certain regional scriptures in South India.

Lord Narasimha as Gandabherunda and Lord Shiva as Sharabha

As with Shiva Sarabha, Gandabherunda is not mentioned in the Bhagavata Purana, although he is mentioned in some Puranas and in certain regional scriptures in South India. For example, Sri Chinna Jeeyar has observed that Gandabherunda Narasimha Avatharam is mentioned in a minor text known as Nru Kanteerava abhyudhayam. Such references state that when Shiva manifested in his ferocious bird-form Sarabha to help contain the Lord's anger, that Sri Narasimha manifested his own, even more terrible bird-animal form, with two heads.
