UP goes on the offensive, seals off all hotspots

India's most populous state is sealing off its virus hotspots. The Uttar Pradesh government announced the complete shutdown of affected areas in 15 districts across the state having a high case load - with 6 cases or more- of the Covid-19 virus in a bid to prevent community spread from taking place.

The 15 districts include Gautambuddh Nagar (Noida), Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Varanasi, Shamli, Saharanpur, Firozabad, Bulandhshahr, Bareilly, Basti, Maharajganj and Sitapur.
