		'Smartphone app better at measuring blood flow' A smartphone app using the phone's camera has performed better than traditional physical examination to assess blood flow in patients undergoing coronary angiography, scientists said on Tuesday. The app had a diagnostic accuracy of 94% compared with 84% using the traditional method. X-rays may strip away alien life from habitable planets: Study Astronomers now know of around 4,000 planets in orbit around other stars. A handful of these are both Earth-sized and in the habitable zones of the stars they orbit, where the temperature is right for liquid water. High blood pressure before pregnancy may raise miscarriage risk The findings, published in the journal Hypertension, showed that for every 10 mm Hg increase in diastolic blood pressure (pressure when the heart is resting between beats), there was 18 per cent higher risk for pregnancy loss among the study population.
