Aadhaar must for subsidised farm loans: RBI
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday said that farmers need to mandatorily link Aadhaar numbers to their accounts to avail subsidised farm loan. The RBI has also announced an interest subvention (subsidy by government) of 2% for the first year on loans that have been restructured following natural calamities.

Community leaders said at least 500 Rohingya had made the difficult journey into Bangladesh, some claiming they had been abused by soldiers in Myanmar. The latest influx follows a months-long bloody military crackdown on the mainly Muslim minority in Myanmar last year that led tens of thousands to flee across the border.
