Meet India's only female forest guards in Gir
A little after sunrise, 25-year-old Kiran Pathija starts her patrol in Gir forest, the last home of 523 Asiatic lions. As shafts of diffused light poke through the dense canopy of trees, Pathija cruises through the jungle on her motorbike looking for new pugmarks and animal carcasses -signs that a big cat is in the vicinity. On average she spots a lion about twice a week, alerting the rescue team only if the animal is injured. Otherwise, she simply notes her observations - births, pregnancies, fresh kills - before continuing to prowl.

Honey has always been a very popular culinary delicacy as well as an important medical remedy for many millennia. Across the globe, our ancestors seemed to be well aware of the many health benefits of honey. Its earliest known use as a medicinal prescription is found in Sumerian clay tablets that may be almost 4000 years old. Almost 30% of the Sumerians’ medical treatments included honey.

There is a saying in Sanskrit, “Amantram Aksharam nasti, nasti moolam anoushadam”. There is not one “Akshara”, in this case a syllable (in this case the syllables used in Sanskrit) which is not a mantra. Now what is a mantra, this needs a little explanation.
