20 Pictures of Lord Nataraja, The Lord of Universal Destruction; Pakistan's New Tallest Building Threatens Hindu Temple

IndiaDivine.org
IndiaDivine.org:
Natararaja is the form of Lord Shiva as the Lord who dances at the time of universal destruction. The dance of Shiva in Chidambaram forms the motif for all the depictions of Shiva as Nataraja. The form is present in most Shiva temples in South India, and is the prime deity in the famous Thillai Nataraja Temple at Chidambaram. The sculpture is usually made in bronze, with Shiva dancing in an aureole of flames, lifting his left leg (or in rare cases, the right leg) and balancing over a demon or dwarf (Apasmara) who symbolizes ignorance. It is a well known sculptural symbol in India and popularly used as a symbol of Indian culture.

IndiaDivine.org:
For 150 years now, the Shri Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple has been the center of spirituality and festivity for the Hindu worshipers living in this southern Pakistani city. More than 25,000 pilgrims, coming from all parts of the country, gather here every year for a grand, spiritual festival. Yet this Hindu temple is now under threat. Just a stone's throw away, property tycoon Malik Riaz is constructing the country's future tallest building — a large commercial plaza. To ease the flow of traffic near the project, a flyover and an underpass are also being built.

On exploring the mythology of Saturn and his function in astrology, shows that he is, in reality, not the villain he is portrayed to be. In fact, he is one of the truest friends and a magnificent teacher a person could have.

IndiaDivine.org:
The Gajapati king of Puri, Dibyasingha Deb, on Monday expressed his deep shock and anguish over the non-participation of the Shankaracharya of Goverdhan Peeth Swami Nischalananda Saraswati in the Rath Yatra festival on Sunday as the government put restrictions on the seer's right to climb the chariots and perform puja.

IndiaDivine.org:
In a break from tradition, Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nicshalananda Saraswati did not turn up to offer prayers to the deities on their chariots during the rath yatra today. Back channel negotiations to persuade the seer failed as he stuck to his decision of not taking part in the yatra, the first such instance, sources said. The seer was miffed at the Jagannath temple administration's request to him to climb the chariots alone. The seer apparently wanted his followers to accompany him while offering prayers on the chariots.
