Vadalur Baba, One of the Greatest Saints and Mystic Yogis, Entered Samadhi on Amalaki Ekadashi

He was an amazing personality who could see past, present, and future, and just by looking at you he knew everything you did, your background, your problems, and all varieties of details about you.

Celebrating Shivaratri at Dayalu Baba’s Ashram

This year Shivaratri fell on March 1st, and as mentioned in a previous post we wanted to help Dayalu Baba with the festival by arranging for the feeding of all the visitors and devotees throughout the day and night.

Three Days Food Distribution at Dayalu Baba Ashram for Makara Sankranti

Every year around January 15th we help to organize the Makara Sankranti festival at Dayalu Baba's ashram in Odisha.

Three Days Food Distribution at Dayalu Baba Ashram for Makara Sankranti

Every year around January 15th we help to organize the Makara Sankranti festival at Dayalu Baba's ashram in Odisha. Dayalu Baba is a sadhu who has been living at the base of a sacred mountain on the edge of Odisha's Simlipal forest range for many decades. This year we arranged to feed all the visitors for three days (14th, 15th and 16th of January) from morning till evening.

The Eternally Burning Fire of Sadhus

In North India the sadhus keep akhanda dhuni, which they worship three times a day and keep burning continuously. It is the same as nitya yagya (daily fire sacrifice).

The Eternally Burning Fire of Sadhus

In North India the sadhus keep akhanda dhuni, which they worship three times a day and keep burning continuously. It is the same as nitya yagya (daily fire sacrifice). Once upon a time, every house used to keep ever burning fire in the kitchen, because it was not so simple to light fires as we do today with matches. If your kitchen fire went out, you would go to your neighbor to borrow fire.

Devotees Celebrate Kartika Month at Bhaktivedanta Ashram

Every year during the month of Kartika our two temples arrange for special programs each evening, with kirtana, offering of ghee lamps by all visitors, and distribution of prasadam.

Devotees Celebrate Kartika Month at Bhaktivedanta Ashram

Every year during the month of Kartika our two temples arrange for special programs each evening, with kirtana, offering of ghee lamps by all visitors, and distribution of prasadam. The last day of the month, Kartika Purnima, is one of the most important religious festivals in Odisha, so thousands of devotees attend throughout the day to worship Lord Jagannatha.

Eye Glasses for Sadhus and the Mystical Deity of Lord Shiva Who Cures Eyesight

On one of my recent trips I went to visit the ashram of Dayalu Baba, a sadhu residing on the edge of the Salandi reserve forest in Odisha, I noticed his glasses were broken and were missing one arm.
