India sees sharpest one-day jump in cases

In the biggest daily jump since the outbreak, India reported 386 new Covid-19 cases today. Total confirmed cases in the country as of April 1 stand at 1,637.

In the sphere of economy, businesses showed tentative signs of limping back to normality even as supply bottlenecks continued to hinder availability of everyday items across the country.

    20 new cases in Madhya Pradesh, tally jumps to 86

    Eight new cases detected in Ahmedabad; Gujarat total up to 82.

    43 new cases reported in Andhra Pradesh, tally rises to 87
    Two patients die in West Bengal, death count rises to six
    Uttar Pradesh records first death
    19 people test positive in Indore, total number of cases up to 63. City records first death.
    Four more test positive in Guwahati, taking total in Assam to five.
    Four new cases in Karnataka, tally up to 105
    13 test positive in Jaipur's Ramganj area; total 106 cases in Rajasthan.
