Death: A Process of Growth; Treatment of Diarrhea and Dysentery According to Ayurveda

IndiaDivine.org
In society today there is much talk of death and dying because of the premature loss of life due to crime, cancer, AIDS, and the increase in suicide, famine and wars. Recent topics such as living wills and euthanasia also have brought the subject of death and dying more to our attention. Even though many people are uncomfortable talking about death, especially their own of that of someone close, it is one experience of our lives we know will occur with certainty. The least certain is the time when it will happen. Because of this utter uncertainty about the time of death, we need to be prepared for it at all times.

Dietary and Lifestyle Management for Diarrhea and Dysentery According to Ayurveda

Causes: According to Ayurveda there are 108 different causes of diarrhea, 51 of which are due to toxins. There are two major categories:

1. Infectious, e.g., amoebas, bacilli, parasites.

Ayurvedic Health Retreats in South India; Medicinal Properties of Acalypha Indica in Traditional Siddha Medicine

IndiaDivine.org
The recent revival of interest in Ayurvedic healing suggests the emergence of new insights and perspectives on health and healing. Ayurveda may be new in the Western world, but scholars maintain that it is the oldest known medical science, over 3,000 years old. Ayurveda literally means "the science of life."

Acalypha indica (English: Indian acalypha, Indian nettle, three-seeded mercury) is a species of plant having catkin type of inflorescence. It occurs throughout tropical Africa and South Africa, in India and Sri Lanka, as well as in Yemen and Pakistan.

The juice is extracted from the leaves, mixed with lime and applied on skin to cure diseases caused by Ringworm. Fresh juice of leaves mixed with oil and salt is used for rheumatoid arthritis and to cure scabies. Powdered leaves are used to cure bedsores and infected wounds. Active medicinal compounds like acalyphine and triacetoneamine are extracted from this plant. They contain cyanogenic glucoside and alkaloids. The paste of the leaves can be applied to burns to treat them.
